Another year begins. Like the competitors there is a pre season equipment check.
A updating of equipment. Licence and Accreditation applications sent and received
This year Cams in it's infinite wisdom and efficiency has given me a new ID number and new
vest number, like I am a new person also at a lesser ranking. BUT....... and this is a big but
I am too afraid to bring this to their attention. Anything could happen. I may end up a
open wheeler pilot or pit control official neither of which is a bad thing but it is not a position
from which a photographer does their best work. With CAMS near enough is sometimes as good as
it gets. And this year if more people would buy more photos instead of giving their friends the web
address so that they can look at the photos for free I would appreciate it.
Anyway on wards to a better season. Safety all the way.

upload. But a four day just exhausts you mentally and physically. My editing system sucks so it is so blahh.
Each night after standing and walking and driving your head says show me me the pillow, your eyes scream as
you turn on the computer screen, and upload another card of photos. Staring at the screen at shots that all look the same trying to find the best. But that is behind me now or is it. Notice as you get tired your creativity goes out the window. On the last day I was just pointing and shooting. If I looked like some of my associates red eyes, red faces, dragging feet. I would not have made a pretty sight. But then I can not wait till next year. That is what photography is about. All that glamour..............Not.
It was great to see the familiar faces on the side line and some new ones. The weather at
times did not help my photo taking but I managed to get some shots, the conditions even
made some different images to normal. Tim Allott was my companion for some of the time.
That hill to the jumps was steep by gave some great shots. But I seemed to be in the wrong
place at each exciting happening. Brian White was in the crowd on Sunday quietly doing what
Brian does. All the crews performed well and organisation seemed to be organised so everything
ran smoothly. Will be there again next year maybe a little wiser but definitely keener.
]]>And for a change I have a nice warm bed and a fire makes a good change from the swag
Last week end was the V8's at Barbagello Raceway good but a horror to get a good position to take
photos. Got a few keepers they will be uploaded in the next few weeks.
it will make the conditions interesting and photo ops plenty. My son Stephen is coming with me he is a photographer too.
Sunday Afternoon the first shots should be on my site. Hopefully we will get some buyers this round. I have tons of lookers but
very few buyers. I know money is tight in some classes but my car doesn't run on air and I can not pay bills with good will.
But it is the sport, the adventure, the thrill that is the real draw card.

discovered that the free camp site that I had selected was in the middle of nowhere
and there was no one else around for miles, then it began to rain. I soon decided that closer
to civilisation I was the better. Ended up sleeping in my car at the first stage for Saturday.
Then the action started got some reasonable photos. Some of the cars I was not to see again
for the rest of the weekend. ( I want my money back). Meet some interstate photographers
who really knew there stuff. In all it was a great weekend. which I would do again but this time
make sure I have reasonable accommodation. Nannup is a quiet country town which closes at
10 pm. My little chariot got to wear a new badge for the weekend. Photo included.
Forest Rally. A bit of getting back to nature sleeping and photographing in the bush. Hopefully the
conditions and rallying justify the effort. The weather looks fine so that is one thing I will not have
to worry about. So here's to good photos and a good time.

He really looks like he is going to make life very competitive for his team mate.
I didn't go to Sepang this year. But from where I usually watch the race I would have been able to see it all unfold.
How could such a professional team get it all so wrong.
The Quit Forest Rally is coming up soon, hoping to get down for a few days of action packed photos.
It has been raining, hopefully this will add to the action.
Getting accreditation is so hard as there is very little communication. I have to drive all the way to
Bunbury to apply. As comuputer contact is useless.
]]>I will be posting on it sample photos from each of my photo shoots as they come.
