Well I have survived a a whole year of Home Grown Motorsports. Every round of the State Rally Championship, most of Barbagallo's Events and of course Targa West, Targa South West, Forest Rally. Next year I'm travelling overseas again mainly Japan and Europe so my photographic coverage of local events many suffer a little. But the travel photos will be great. If you see my mojo please return it co's at the moment I'm running on empty and a steady supply of filtered coffee, oh coffee the elixir of life.
Just complete the Quit Targa West 2014 in more than one way. A two day event gives you lots of photos to edit and
upload. But a four day just exhausts you mentally and physically. My editing system sucks so it is so blahh.
Each night after standing and walking and driving your head says show me me the pillow, your eyes scream as
you turn on the computer screen, and upload another card of photos. Staring at the screen at shots that all look the same trying to find the best. But that is behind me now or is it. Notice as you get tired your creativity goes out the window. On the last day I was just pointing and shooting. If I looked like some of my associates red eyes, red faces, dragging feet. I would not have made a pretty sight. But then I can not wait till next year. That is what photography is about. All that glamour..............Not.
The Newmont Boddington Gold Rally has come and gone and a great time was had by all.
It was great to see the familiar faces on the side line and some new ones. The weather at
times did not help my photo taking but I managed to get some shots, the conditions even
made some different images to normal. Tim Allott was my companion for some of the time.
That hill to the jumps was steep by gave some great shots. But I seemed to be in the wrong
place at each exciting happening. Brian White was in the crowd on Sunday quietly doing what
Brian does. All the crews performed well and organisation seemed to be organised so everything
ran smoothly. Will be there again next year maybe a little wiser but definitely keener.
This weekend I'm off to the Targa Southwest Rally. Its small but good rally to attend.
And for a change I have a nice warm bed and a fire makes a good change from the swag
Last week end was the V8's at Barbagello Raceway good but a horror to get a good position to take
photos. Got a few keepers they will be uploaded in the next few weeks.
Early tomorrow morning I head down south for the Trade Hire Donnelly Rally. It has been raining for the last few days so
it will make the conditions interesting and photo ops plenty. My son Stephen is coming with me he is a photographer too.
Sunday Afternoon the first shots should be on my site. Hopefully we will get some buyers this round. I have tons of lookers but
very few buyers. I know money is tight in some classes but my car doesn't run on air and I can not pay bills with good will.
But it is the sport, the adventure, the thrill that is the real draw card.
